Chlorine determination

Photometric Spectroquant® chlorine determination with liquid reagents

Spectroquant® Liquid Chlorine Tests
Test components for photometric chlorine determination: Spectroquant® Liquid Chlorine Reagents and Spectroquant® Cells.

Chlorine is the most reliable and therefore the most widely used means of disinfecting water – in the food industry, in water works, in swimming pools and elsewhere. It sterilizes drinking water, guarantees clean tap water all the way to the tap and ensures that swimming pool water is beautifully clear. To achieve this, the chlorine content must be right and constantly checked.

Photometric Spectroquant® chlorine determination - liquid reagents ideal for use in damp conditions too

Merck's Spectroquant® liquid reagents for chlorine determination offer plenty of benefits compared to conventional chlorine tests with powder reagents, especially in damp environments. In damp conditions, powders tend to clump together, a state in which they cannot be used. Spectroquant® liquid reagents, on the other hand, can always be used.

Photometric Spectroquant® chlorine determination - liquid reagents can be stored at room temperature

In addition, Spectroquant® liquid reagents are more stable than other liquid chlorine tests, and the only ones which can be stored at room temperature between 15 and 25 °C. They are therefore also easy to apply on site, for example in production. Wherever the chlorine content of water needs to be analyzed quickly and reliably – with a reaction time of just one minute, the portable Colorimeter Spectroquant® Picco is the perfect solution.

Photometric Spectroquant® chlorine determination – liquid reagents can be ordered individually

The liquid reagents for the Spectroquant® chlorine determination can be supplied individually in 30ml bottles. Only reagents 1 and 2 are needed to determine free chlorine, while 3 reagents are required to determine total chlorine. That gives users flexibility in using all components and means they only re-order what they need. Individual components don't need to be thrown away unused. That's good for both the environment and your budget.

The Spectroquant® chlorine liquid reagents from Merck meet the quality requirement of measurement accuracy of both the EU directive on drinking water quality and the World Health Organization guidelines.
